Background
Interscope was founded in November 1996, as the software division of the Telemach Group of Companies, which is mainly involved in the CATV business.

We started geared toward providing architecture planning, implementation and development services, for both software and web sites.

Soon after the the release of our first (then freeware) software utility, when the download count from our site reached a few thousands in a very short time, we realised that there is much potential in developing our own software We were also thrilled by the freedom that comes by being able to choose your own directions and technology priorities.

Since then, we have released several versions of our products and are now heading for establishing our own product lines.

We work closely with all Telemach Group divisions to be able to develop new features and to deliver our products on time to the customers.

The people we are working with include several computer art designers who collaborate closely with our programming team, helping to implement (and improve) user interfaces that are both easy-to-use and fun to work with.

Products timeline

• In 1997 we released on the market our first application, Interscope DES Encoder/Decoder.

  DES Encoder/Decoder was a small freeware security application, designed to help users in keeping files safe on their systems. Later that year we opted for renaming it to Interscope BlackBox and making it commercial software.

• 1998 meant not only the release of two new versions of Interscope BlackBox, but also joining the league of development tool makers with Interscope InstallMaster.

  Targeted for application developers needing a good, fast and not ultimately, easy-to-use setup generation tool, InstallMaster Lite is the first of a whole series of programming/distribution tools, including Standard and Professional editions of InstallMaster.

  During the year of 1998 and based on the feedback we got from users of InstallMaster, we published several service releases (SR).

• We started 1999 by announcing the first major change to BlackBox, version 2.0.

  The new Interscope BlackBox is now a full security suite, with lots of new and exciting features, most important being the ability to create self-extracting encrypted archives and the inclusion of a desktop shredder.

  We also published service releases for Interscope InstallMaster (SR).
